As always, thank you to the band mom and dads who helped cook, feed, dress, and drive the kids and their stuff on this long day. I would personally like to thank Band Booster President Rachel McClure and the First Dad, Doug, for doing all the shopping (and most of the food preparation) for all of the events we've held ...it's a relief to the rest of us to know that we just have to show up and help. Special thanks to John Moser who's kid graduated last year, but he still shows up to help and lets us see the light (just don't look right at it!).

Middle School Night 10/13/06

On Friday the 13th we welcomed about 140 band members from Sussman and East Middle Schools...the band that night was almost 300 members strong. The football team lost, but the band sounded great! Thank you to Mr. Reyna and Mrs. Keen for bringing their great musicians!

 

First Competition 10/07/06

Kennedy HS Field Competition at Glover Stadium

RESULTS:  Downey High School Marching Band won the Divisions 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A (our division) SWEEPSTAKES!!! Our band was invited back to the stadium to perform an exhibition of our field show, "Blue", in the evening before the 5A and 6A bands competed. Our Percussion won 1st place, and our Colorguard won 1st place as well. We beat Warren in all categories!
