Band News/Events 2/7/10

1.  7-8 Concert Band basket theme is Garden Lovers and 7-8 Symphonic Band theme is Spa.  The letter that came home in the mail is this way and we will go with it.  The letter that the kids brought home from school was backwards.

2. Congratulations to Whitney Graff and Peter Zelinka from Canfield High School on being selected to the Ohio All-State Band which performed in Cincinnatti on Saturday, January 30.  Whitney is a two time member of the band and sat third chair euphonium.  Peter played for his first time and was first chair clarinet.  These students submitted an audition CD and were selected from over 690 CD's from throughout the state.  What a great accomplishment for themselves, their families, and your Canfield band program

2.  Please look under your child's respective band for updates.  Please mark your calendars.  Pasta Dinner/Chinese Auction Fundraiser is Saturday, February 27, 2010.    When someone from Canfield Band Parents, Inc. calls and asks you to volunteer in some way, please consider helping out in any way you can.

3. As you get close to high school orientation and registration, please read the weekly updates on the 7-8 symphonic band page.  Band is THE best activity for your Freshman student.  Please ask one of the band directors your questions about high school band.
