Directors
Michael L. Kelly Jr. is in his third year as Director of Bands at Canfield High School. His teaching responsibilities include directing the “Cardinal Pride” marching and pep bands, concert and symphonic bands, as well as music theory. Previous to his appointment at Canfield, Mr. Kelly taught instrumental, vocal, and general music for eight years within the James A. Garfield Local Schools in Garrettsville, Ohio. Mr. Kelly received his Master of Music in Performance-Instrumental Conducting and a Bachelor of Music Education from The Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University. Mr. Kelly is an active member in the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) serving as District VI President-Elect, local chair for Middle and Junior High School Solo and Ensemble Adjudicated Event(s), and as an OMEA adjudicator. Mr. Kelly resides in Bristolville with his beautiful wife, Diana, their son, Ethan Michael and daughter Riley.
Marc S. Pupino has just finished his 14th year teaching. His teaching responsibilities include the DIrector of the Canfield VIllage Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Concert Band, 5th and 6th grade Band Director, 8th Grade Music Appreciation and Assistant Band Director at Canfield High School. Prior to his appontment in Canfield, Mr. Pupino was the Director of Bands at Austintown Frank Ohl Middle School from 2002-2007, and was the Director if Bands in the East Palestine School District from 1994-2002. Mr. Pupino received his Bachelor of Music Education from the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University, and his Masters in Educational Administration from Ashland University. Mr. Pupino is a member of the Ohio Music Education Association and is a judge for Solo and Ensemble all over the state. Mr. Pupino plays professionally for the Warren W. D. Packard Band and is Assistant Principal Trumpet and is also the leader of the dance band Ovation. Mr. Pupino resides in Canfield with his wife and two daughters. |
