Ensemble Festival
CONNECTICUT ASBDA ENSEMBLE FESTIVAL
An opportunity for high school bands to perform and sight read for an adjudication and receive a 30 minute clinic on the prepared performance selection. The festival provides bands are judges in accordance with national standards. In addition, each participating school presents at least one small ensemble Plaques are awarded to each band and medals are awarded to each member of small ensembles.
The registration fee for each band is 5 and for each small ensemble performer. All fees are non-refundable. Fees are used to offset adjudicator stipends, awards and facility & administrative costs. Registration begins in the Fall for the March event.
Each band performs three selections, one from the Required List. The list classifies selections into three difficulty levels: A, AA, AAA. (Grades 3, 4 and 5+) Each band will sightread a piece one grade level below the required selection. The adjudication score is determined by 80% of your prepared performance and 20% of the sightreading performance.
One of the adjudicators will present a clinic to your band on the performed selections.
Deadline dates for pre registration have been in December. But consider registering early to secure a placement in the event.
