Jerome High School

The director of bands in the Jerome School District is Gordon P. Smith. He is in his third year in Jerome and his twenty-fifth of teaching band, having taught in California for eight years before beginning his Idaho career in 1992. He is President-elect of the Idaho District IV Music Educators Association, director of the Magic Valley Regional Marching Band, and co-chairman of the District IV Middle School Large Ensemble Festival. He has been president of the Idaho District III Music Educators Association, festival chairman of the Idaho District III – Oregon District IX Large Ensemble Music Festival, the District III Middle School Music Festival, and the Snake River Band Festival, a state board member of the Idaho Music Educators Association, and a member of the Music Educators National Conference since 1984. His compositions, arrangements, and marching drills have been performed by school bands (and the Dallas Brass) throughout the western United States over the past twenty-five years.
